Reproductive Carrier Screening is a DNA test in Malaysia designed for couples who are planning pregnancy or want to understand whether they may carry inherited genetic changes that could be passed on to their children. Some individuals may be healthy carriers without showing symptoms, but if both partners carry changes in the same gene, there may be a higher chance of having a child affected by an inherited condition. This screening can help detect carrier risks for inherited conditions such as thalassemia, spinal muscular atrophy, Fragile X syndrome, and other genetic disorders. At Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City Kuala Lumpur, the package includes analysis of more than 400 genes related to autosomal recessive and X-linked recessive conditions, together with pre-test and post-test genetic counselling.

Prices are subject to 6% Sales & Service Tax (SST) and may change without prior notice.

Prices are based on per person basis, in Malaysian currency (RM).

Upon completion of payment, cancellations are not permitted. However, we do accommodate rescheduling requests provided date fall within the campaign period.

Confirmed orders are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Prices are valid until 31 December 2026.

The purchased package must be utilised by 31 December 2026, including both appointment booking and completion of services.

The genetic test is available by appointment only, and bookings must be made at least 7 days in advance.

The package includes pre-test and post-test genetic counselling, conducted by experienced genetic counsellors.

Only applicable for individuals aged 18 years and above.

The turnaround time is approximately 30 working days.

Screening slots are available Monday through Friday from 08:00 to 17:00 and for Saturday is by appointment only. Please note that screenings are not available on Sundays and Public Holidays.

Travelers are responsible for independently securing their own visas.
